What is a proforma invoice?
A proforma invoice is a preliminary bill sent before goods are delivered or work is done. It shows what the buyer will pay but is not a demand for payment in the accounting sense.
Is a proforma invoice legally binding?
Usually not. It's an estimate of the final invoice. Rules differ by country, so check with your accountant for tax purposes.
Can I convert a proforma into a final invoice?
Yes. Change the title at the top to Invoice, update the number and dates, and send it once the order is complete.
